UK Global Talent Visa Digital Technology Criteria
Exceptional talent candidate must show they have been recognised as a leader in the digital technology sector in the last 5 years. Exceptional promise candidate must show they have been recognised as having potential to be a leading talent in the digital technology field in the last 5 years, and be at an early stage of their career.
All candidates of the UK Global Talent Visa for digital technology must provide at least two pieces of evidence for 2 of the chosen criteria:
innovation as a founder of a product led digital technology company or as an employee working on a new digital field or concept
a proof of recognition for work beyond the applicant’s occupation that contributes to the advancement of the field
they have made significant technical, commercial or entrepreneurial contributions to the field as a founder or employee of a product-led digital technology company
they have demonstrated exceptional ability in the field by academic contributions through research endorsed by an expert.

Exceptional Talent vs Exceptional Promise
Exceptional Talent candidates must be able to demonstrate a combination of career achievements and significant impact in the tech industry.
Exceptional Promise applicants are expected to be at the start of their career and are likely to have less than 5 years of experience in technology but can have had a longer career in another type of work.
Endorsement by Tech Nation: Digital Technology Evidence Requirements
You must include the following documents and information in your endorsement application:
personal statement (maximum 1000 words) explaining the contribution you will make to the UK digital technology sector
your CV with career and publication history included
3 letters of recommendation from recognised tech experts who personally know you and the details of your work (a period of 12 months or more) prepared strictly according to the Tech Nation requirements
evidence of any successful established tech business if you have been a founder or senior executive in the last 5 years
proof you meet the eligibility criteria – maximum of 10 documents with at least 2 unique documents under the mandatory, and at least 2 unique documents for each of the 2 optional criteria
Each piece of evidence must be no longer than 3 sides of A4 paper.

A technical applicant under the Global Talent Visa must show Tech Nation proven technical expertise with the latest technologies in building, using, deploying or exploiting a technology stack and building technical infrastructure. A technical applicant is someone whose expertise is primarily hands-on and technical, such as a software engineer, data scientist, machine learning specialist, DevOps engineer, cybersecurity professional or similar.

Academic or research contributions can include peer-reviewed publications, technical research papers, patents or research projects that have practical application within digital technology or commercial products.

A business applicant must also be able to show proven commercial, investment or product expertise in building digital products or leading investments in significant digital product businesses. Evidence can include:
domestic or international sales showing customer numbers for each country in which the company is operating
your last set of audited accounts, signed by the directors of the company, including a balance sheet and profit and loss statement
If you do not have audited accounts, the accounts you provide must cover a period of more than 12 months.
